Meet our Teachers
Administration of Justice
Education: San Jose State University - B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration; M.S. in Human Behavior
Experience: Steve has been a police officer for Santa Cruz PD, Salinas PD, and Redding PD for a total of 16 years of service. He has worked in the capacities of Patrol Officer, Motorcycle Enforcement Officer, Canine Officer, Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, and Report Writing Officer. He specialized in vice and street crimes. Steve joined ROP as an instructor in 2012.
Experience: Gail Enmark began her career as a Medical Assistant for an OB/GYN office, then went back to school to pursue a career in dentistry. In 1997 Gail joined our teaching staff at Shasta-Trinity ROP. She taught Dental Assisting and the Registered Dental Assistant preparation class. More recently, Gail began teaching the Patient Care Tech and Medical Assistant Program. Having parented two sons and worked with high school students for many years, Gail enjoys the self-discovery phase of teen development. She is proud to be part of the journey a young person takes during high school to learn what they love and what they don't.
Firefighter Training & Public Safety
Education: Shasta Community College - A.A. in Agriculture/Fire Science; State of California Lifetime Community College Teaching Credential; National Fire Academy and California State Fire Training Fire Teaching Credentials.
Experience: Tom is a Certified California State Fire Officer, Firefighter 1 and 2 with 40 years of experience as a Shasta County Volunteer. He has advanced in rank from Firefighter, Training Officer, Captain, Assistant Chief, and Chief Officer. He also holds the designation of Engine Boss with the Office of Emergency Services and the National Wildfire Coordinating Group. Since 1987 Tom has taught all levels of Firefighter 1 and 2, Emergency Medical Technician and EMT Paramedic at Shasta Community College and Shasta County Fire Dept. He joined the teaching staff at ROP in 2006.
Education: University of California, San Diego - CTE Teaching Credential in Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation
Experience: Holly came to ROP in 1986 with five years of restaurant experience. She started as an assistant in the ROP Restaurant Occupations program and became the program instructor in 2010. She is a Certified Food Safety Manager (NRFSP) and an administrator of the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals Food Safety Manager Certification & Food Handler certification exams. She has enjoyed externship opportunities at C.R. Gibbs, Holiday Inn, The Vista's Assisted Living, and 808 Bistro to name a few. Holly's goal is to assure each student the opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge needed for success in the culinary industry and throughout their lives.
Automotive Technology &
Education: A.A. from Santa Rosa College, Teaching Credential from University of California, Berkeley
Experience: Ed is a military veteran with four years active service and seven years inactive reserve. He worked in the automotive industry for 25 years and has been a teacher for 15 years joining the ROP staff in 2004. Ed is very excited to be adding a new class in Smog Certification this year.
Child Psychology & Careers with Children
Education: California State University, East Bay - BS in Liberal Studies. University of California, San Diego - CTE Teaching Credential in Education, Child Development & Family Services
Experience: Prior to coming to ROP, Kali worked as a pre-K teacher and had several years of experience working with young children at a preschool. She has a bachelor's degree in liberal studies from CSU, East Bay. She started working for ROP in 2017. Kali is an outstanding new teacher for us and has been improving our successful program with her curriculum preparation.
